Climate

Bansko’s altitude above sea level and its vicinity to three mountains (Pirin, Rodopite and Rila) creates several distinctive climatic subregions: high mountainous, middle mountainous, and low mountainous. The town and St. Ivan Rislki Hotel, Spa & Apartments lie in the low mountainous area. The climate there is moderate, mild, clear and offers excellent conditions for tourism and recreation. The mountains are rich in old forests, numerous caves, magnificent canyons, waterfalls and lakes.

The average annual temperature for Bansko is 9.1°С. From December to February the temperatures are at their lowest, and in July – August – at their highest peaks.
